Mobile Sleep Tracking Application for Smartwatch
Goal
Quantify user sentiments by presenting a singular user group with product design variations, specifically element placement and UX copy, and asking those users to choose their favorite and explain their choices. This test also included elements of a usability review; users were asked to identify critical features and functions of the prototypes that they were exposed to.
Planning & Recruitment
By collaborating with stakeholders and reviewing the prototypes, a 30-hour study scope was finalized. Then, a Research Plan and relevant materials were created, namely the Preference Test Survey shared via Typeform with users recruited via email campaign and a HubUX campaign. Users were compensated for their time with a $10 e-gift card.
Progress was systematically reported to stakeholders via Slack, email, Loom, and weekly syncs.
Key Findings:
- Analysis of users quantitative and qualitative feedback revealed the preferred design elements, narrowing down the 3 prototypes to a single “winner.”
- An interesting trend for one design variable warranted further investigation.
